I had the opportunity to work with Tri Hita Consulting on two major collaborations, including the design of sustainable financing frameworks for two Indonesian banks and the publication of sectoral guidelines across four key sectors in Indonesia to strengthen access to private and international climate finance. The team was professional, insightful and a pleasure to work with, and I look forward to future opportunities to collaborate again.
Tri Hita Consulting supported us in mapping key challenges in decarbonising emissions in Indonesia’s power sector and demonstrating how biomass cofiring can reduce reliance on coal, lower greenhouse gas emissions, and support our decarbonisation roadmap. Throughout the process, Tri Hita Consulting provided strong support to the team through their analysis of carbon market regulations, as well as PLN’s emissions evaluation and reporting mechanisms. Tri Hita’s input during focus group discussions and report development also added useful insights. We greatly value this collaborative approach between AFD, PLN, BioTanah, Tri Hita Consulting, and IPPs, and we look forward to future joint efforts in advancing cleaner energy solutions.
We collaborated with Tri Hita Consulting on Decarbonising Indonesia through Biogas, part of the Mitigation Action Facility’s Call for Projects 2023. From the outset of the outline phase to the detailed preparation phase, they provided significant technical and strategic input throughout the process. Their work on proposal writing, project planning, GHG mitigation assessment, financial model inputs, and practical implementation plan helped establish a strong basis for moving the project forward in support of Indonesia’s decarbonisation agenda. I worked with Tri Hita Consulting in 2024 and 2025 on EE project . When I was seconded to OECD-CEFIM, their team was supporting a training on EE finance where they supported EE risk explanation and facilitated interactive sessions which included modeling potential EE investments with ROI as one of the results. In the second assignment, Tri Hita moderated a session and also provided inputs to overall interactions and workshop report. I am impressed by the professionalism and go-to attitude of the Tri Hita team and can say that they supported over and beyond the original contract. To comply with The OJK regulation, we collaborated with Tri Hita Consulting to conduct training for our team ensuring our readiness to prepare CRMS reporting in 2025. We achieved our training objective, namely for our team members to acquire knowledge of OJK CRMS and gain awareness of the collaborative approach for CRMS implementation. We worked with Tri Hita Consulting for a workshop that focused on energy efficiency financing, which was held in Manado. Tri Hita was hired to provide technical support for two sessions focused on EE risk and financial model assessments. Further, they assisted us in engaging the participants with interactive sessions and case studies. We were pleasantly surprised by the professional delivery in both languages and Tri Hita’s staff’s flexibility to adapt to unforeseen changes during the workshop. Tri Hita Consulting supported GGGI Indonesia on the development of a GHG emission reduction calculation methodology for Solar Water Heaters in collaboration with La Ode Wahid and conducting a series of capacity building for Renewable Energy producers and government personnel from Aneka EBT (DJEBTKE). To introduce the calculation methodology for various RE types (including solar, wind, hydro, and biogas) and familiarise them with the DRAM form as part of entering the national carbon market. The capacity-building conducted by Tri Hita Consulting was outstanding, engaging participants effectively, and their logistic support and communication were commendable.

In order to improve the capacity of the Financial Industry in Indonesia, the OJK Institute in collaboration with GIZ CASE has developed a capacity-building program focused on Carbon Trading. Tri Hita Consulting was one of the expert teams that provided technical input on International Practices in carbon trading. We are greatly helped, especially in providing a comprehensive overview of the global learning curve throughout the implementation of carbon trading.
Furthermore, we have gained valuable insights directly from the participants on this discussion, such as the financial instruments that interest them, what is needed and expected from OJK by industry players, and what steps can be taken together to strengthen the implementation of sustainable finance, especially strategies to increase the utilisation of carbon trading services in Indonesia.
IDX recently hosted a capacity building session on GHG inventory and mitigation actions with our subsidiaries, which was coordinated by Tri Hita Consulting. Tri Hita supported GIZ CASE in collaboration with PIH Kemenperin to assist the industry sector on its energy efficiency journey by organising an Energy Efficiency Workshop: Setting an energy baseline according to ISO 50006:2023. We appointed Tri Hita Consulting & EnerCoss to ensure the workshop was done successfully. Tri Hita Team was very proactive & tactful, ensuring the preparation until the workshop was done professionally. The engaging presentations, hands-on activities, and group discussions created an immersive learning experience. This interactive approach facilitated a deeper understanding of energy efficiency concepts and encouraged the participants to brainstorm and share ideas. It was a great collaboration between Tri Hita Consulting and C&G Analytica to carry out an important study for the ASEAN Energy Center on the current state of energy efficiency demand management in ASEAN. Together we look at the 4 main pillars of energy efficiency demand management (EE), namely the role of ESCOs, financing of EE, adopting EE standards and labels, and innovative energy services and market design. We are actively seeking more collaborative projects to drive energy efficiency forward.
We engaged with Verena for a status report on energy efficiency in Indonesia assigned to us by UNIDO. Given the short cycle of analysis, we need good local knowledge, good network for policy makers and the private sector to ensure that the results are in line with current discussions in the field. We really appreciate the work of Verena and her team and look forward to working on other projects in the future.

Tri Hita supported us in the process of a type II verification of a GHG Inventory and in providing assurance statements for the Sustainability Report of CIMB Niaga in 2023.They have partially verified the data, methodology used, and findings from the GHG inventory. Besides their verification, Tri Hita Consulting provided CIMB Niaga with recommendations on how to improve their GHG inventory in the future by demonstrating and giving an example on how to calculate GHG accordingly. I got to know Tri Hita Consulting when they joined the Energy Conservation Project, where the City of Denpasar is one of the Pilot Projects of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources. We are collaborating in a street lighting equipment procurement project for the City of Denpasar with a PPP scheme. Julia, Verena and Gita helped us to coordinate and provide technical input from local and national consultants. I hope that our collaboration will not only be on the APJ PPP project but will continue to support other projects to improve public services in City of Denpasar.
