Dr. Verena Streitferdt, PhD

President Director

Verena Streitferdt is an expert in sustainable energy, climate policy, and finance with more than 11 years of consultant experience and 15 years of training/facilitation experience. She earned her doctoral degree from the Institute for Sustainable Futures (ISF), University of Technology Sydney, Australia (co-supervised by the Wuppertal Institute, Germany) with her PhD research focused on how public financial instruments can assist in leveraging private sector investments into the sustainable energy sector. She also holds certificates as a: Frankfurt School of Finance ESG investment expert, GHG Management Institute certified carbon accountant, DGNB Sustainable building standard consultant, and RENAC Certified Green Finance specialist.

As a short-term consultant, she has worked for organisations like the Asian Development Bank, World Bank, UNEP, the ASEAN Centre for Energy, RENAC, and the ‘Deutsche Gesellschaft fuer Internationale Zusammenarbeit’ (GmbH). In addition, she also has conducted various capacity development programs on climate change and sustainability for international development organisations and government representatives in Southeast Asia. In one of her recent positions, she assisted the city of Denpasar in investing in EE street lights by providing an impact analysis and the financial model to determine the availability of payments.

Sindy Gita Purnama, S.S.

Commissary & Administrator

Gita graduated from Udayana University, majoring in English Literature, and has a strong interest in literature. She has sufficient knowledge in translation (English-Indonesian), communication, and administration. While at college, Gita was a part of the student organisation, and she also volunteered in a non-profit cultural institution from 2016 until 2018. She had an opportunity to participate at the Annual Meeting of IMF-WBG held in Bali in 2018 as a local staff member. Gita had been in the tourism industry for two years. She took a role as a reservation officer in one of the travel agencies in Bali, which also supported sustainable travel. Her combined experiences make her a reliable person for the team.

Julia Rahmi, S.H. LL.M.

Senior Consultant, Legal Manager, and Project Manager

Julia is a legal and project management professional with over 18 years of experience. Initially working on corporate clients in a local law firm, she grew her interest in environmental law and pursued a Master’s degree in Global Environment and International Climate Change Law (LL.M) at Edinburgh University. She has been involved in various sustainable development projects across Indonesia involving private and public sectors, such as energy efficiency, low-carbon development, renewable energy systems, sustainable finance, and strategic planning for climate change mitigation. Her proficiency in organisation internal governance also made her expertise include human resources, handling public relations and government relations.

She joined Tri Hita Consulting in October 2022 and is currently responsible as the HR Manager, Legal Counsel, Project Manager, and Expert Consultant. Recently she is involved in an energy efficiency project for urban streetlights in Bali, and climate change mitigation consulting for a hydroelectric power company.

Marcella has worked as a communications and training coordinator for 7 years, most recently successfully managing offline workshops for energy efficiency in the industrial sector in Indonesia, supporting communications & moderating network activities. Throughout her career in Tri Hita Consulting, she managed to channel her deep interest in climate change, environment, and social issues. Her specialty is in marketing communication, branding, and business development.

Reza Memary, PhD

International Senior Consultant in GHG Management

A sustainability expert with a PhD in Life Cycle Environmental Impact Assessment from the University of Technology Sydney and extensive experience in Life Cycle Assessment (LCA). Reza has worked across academia, consultancy, and industry to advance sustainability and the circular economy. Previously, he has worked as a senior sustainability specialist for Thinkstep-anz with a focus on conducting LCA studies for Environmental Product Declaration development for industries such as cement, bitumen, and asphalt plants. He has also worked as a lecturer at Flinders University, he taught governance and sustainability, GRI standards, and operations and supply chain management. At Tri Hita Consulting, Reza is an International Senior Consultant in GHG Management, specializing in emissions assessments, sustainability strategies, and regulatory compliance to support organizations in meeting climate commitments.

With a strong background in risk assessment, Marya Tisnandya has honed the ability to evaluate and mitigate potential hazards in various business scenarios, both from physical and transition risks. Her expertise extends to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) factors, reflecting her commitment to sustainable and ethical business practices. She has a deep interest in the carbon market, understanding its pivotal role in combating climate change and promoting sustainable business practices. Marya Tisnandya has consistently demonstrated her enthusiasm for ESG principles and carbon markets by actively participating in related research and continuously updating her knowledge in these evolving fields. During her study, Dita succeeded in getting a full scholarship from the Government for her education from beginning to end of her study. Ibu Juniati Gunawan, has more than sixteen years of experience in developing sustainability reports for private, multinational, and state-owned sectors, including banks. She also experiences developing action plans for sustainable finance, training, strategy, policy and sustainable development goals mapping for various national corporations. Lidia Elvina, S.T.

Lidia has been working in the energy and environment area for the last six years since graduating as an Environmental Engineering Major with a focus on Resource Recovery Technology in Universitas Islam Indonesia, Yogyakarta. Currently collaborating with Tri Hita Consulting, as technical & financial analyst support in LED street lighting projects. She’s also currently working in Credit Saison Indonesia with a position as Sustainable Impact Assistant Manager and part of Global Impact Team where she initiates, builds, enhances and maintains the sustainability performance and sustainable finance programmes including implementing ESG Risk Assessment and CSR initiative to the community . 

She has a deep interest in renewable energy, especially that from biomass and waste. Lidia was awarded a fully-funded renewable research project during her bachelor’s to design and build a dark fermentation reactor that utilised traditional market waste as fuel. Prior, she worked as a Knowledge and Information Management Consultant for GIZ and as an engineer for su-re.co; her roles here centred around renewable energy and included reporting, building databases, policy & regulation analysis, and monitoring & evaluating the biogas digester installation on site.

Matthieu Caille

Matthieu Caille is an expert in the energy efficiency field with 12 years of professional experience. A master’s degree graduate from Mechanical Engineering in Institut Catholique d’Arts et Métiers (ICAM), France, he has demonstrated an extensive portfolio of energy audits in Indonesian companies, ranging from urban infrastructure, aviation, textile, chemical, to FnB sector. He also currently occupies the position of COO in the French company BioTanah. Wayan Suarta

Partner specializing in energy efficiency

With nearly 20 years of experience, Wayan Suarta holds a distinct expertise in energy efficient lighting installation. An Electrical Engineering graduate from Maranatha University Bandung, Wayan has expertise in planning lighting installations using dialux and calculux applications, so that an efficient and energy-saving system is obtained. Wayan is also experienced in supplying the appropriate lighting type for each environment, managing and supervising lighting installation projects to ensure the compliance with government standards. Throughout his career, Wayan has contributed to various urban lighting projects which were mainly in Bali, ranging from coastal area lighting, street and tunnel lighting, to outdoor and indoor lighting in Ngurah Rai International airport. He also has worked with local government agencies under the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (KemenPUPR), regional transportation agency, and as a subcontractor for PT WIKA and Adhi Karya. 

Currently Wayan is involved in a PPP Project with Tri Hita Consulting, Asian Development Bank, and the City of Denpasar government as the consultant to conduct an energy efficient street lighting technical assessment.

Volker Bromund

Volker Bromund has over 20 years of experience in various positions as a corporate banker for Deutsche Bank AG. During the last ten years, he developed his Green Banking/ Sustainable Finance Development expertise. One of his projects included developing subsidised loans for EE investments. Further, he is a trainer and speaker at the Renewable Academy in Berlin on investment issues. He has vast experience in credit, corporate banking/finance and has worked for Deutsche Bank in Germany, Malaysia, Hong Kong and Indonesia (for over ten years). After leaving Deutsche Bank in 2010, he started his own consultancy company in Jakarta, advising clients on financing solutions. Fabby Tumiwa

Executive Director and an Energy Transition Strategist, Indonesia

Fabby Tumiwa is an energy transition strategist and the Executive Director of Institute for Essential Services Reform (IESR). For more than 20 years, Fabby Tumiwa has worked on a wide range of energy policies and regulations. He is an advocate for renewable energy and energy efficiency. He advises Indonesian government agencies, businesses, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), and multilateral development organisations on electricity,  renewable energy and energy efficiency, energy finance, and climate change policies. From 2006 to 2018, he served as Indonesia’s delegate to climate change negotiations. He was a member of the various Working Groups under the National Council on Climate Change from 2009 to 2014. He served as a member of the Indonesia Climate Change Trust Fund (ICCTF) Steering Committee from 2015 to 2019. Fabby Tumiwa is chairman of the Indonesia Solar Energy Association since 2021. He is a Country Adviser of Southeast Asia Energy Transition Partnership (SEA-ETP) and was a member of the Technical Advisory Group (TAG) of Energy Sector Management Assistance Program (ESMAP) of the World Bank in 2022, and currently, he serves as a member of Energy Transition Accelerator High-Level Consultative Group, an initiative by US State Dept, Rockefeller Foundation, and Bezos Foundation.

Timon Wehnert

Head Berlin Office and Co-Head of Research Unit International Energy Transitions · International climate and energy policy, Germany

Timon Wehnert has been working in energy and climate policy research for more than twenty years. Since 2011 he has been working as a senior researcher at the Wuppertal Institute, Germany. Since 2022 he co-leads the Research Unit International Energy Transitions of the Department Future Energy and Industrial Systems.

His current work focuses on structural change and regional innovation systems in the context of climate policy-driven transition processes, such as the phase-out of coal and decarbonisation of the industrial sector. Among other issues, he coordinates the activities of the Wuppertal Institute within the framework of the Secretariat of the Coal Regions in Transition Initiative of the European Commission and Wuppertal Institute’s activities on Just Transition in coal regions globally.

Prior to his engagement with the Wuppertal Institute (between 1999 and 2011) he was a research fellow at the Institute for Futures Studies and Technology Assessment (IZT), Berlin, working on matters relating to sustainable energy systems: long-term energy foresight and scenarios for the energy sector, potentials of renewable energy technologies as well as European energy research policy.

Milou Beerepoot

Programme Manager Regional Programmes Neighbourhood South – Energy

Milou is an experienced Energy and Climate Change Specialist with a demonstrated history of working in the international affairs industry. She is skilled in Clean Energy Development, Energy Policy Analysis, Sustainable Development Project Management and Proposal Writing. She has extensive working and living experience and in-depth understanding of critical issues and stakeholders involved in climate and energy domains in developing and transition countries and is a highly organised professional with academic record (PhD, Delft University of Technology) and Certified Expert in Climate & Renewable Energy Finance (Frankfurt School of Finance & Management).

Milou is currently working at the European Commission as a Programme Manager of Regional Programmes Neighbourhood South – Energy for the European Commission. Previously, she worked with UNDP, GIZ, King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi, the International Energy Agency and Delft University of Technology.

Peter du Pont

Co-Founder and Co-CEO, Asia Clean Energy Partners

Peter du Pont is the Co-Founder and Co-CEO of an Asia-based international consultancy, Asia Clean Energy Partners, which provides services and solutions for clients in the development and business sectors. He is based in Bangkok and has more than 30 years of experience developing sustainable energy and climate programs in the U.S. and Asia. He has carried out assignments related to the design, implementation, and evaluation of clean energy policies and plans, energy and climate finance, and climate change programs. He contributes to the clean energy ecosystem in the region through a variety of assignments, including as Southeast Asia Regional Coordinator of the Private Financing Advisory Network (PFAN); his founding and continuing role helping to lead the Asia Clean Energy Forum; and through a variety of strategic advisory and capacity-building assignments for public- and private-sector clients.

Rebecca Self

Founder & Managing Director, Seawolf Sustainable Consultancy

Rebecca founded Dutch-based Seawolf Sustainability Consulting in 2022. Her organisation provides independent sustainability advice to accountants, finance professionals and management teams across the world. Prior to this role Rebecca was the Director of Sustainable Finance at the environmental consultancy and carbon offset project developer South Pole. Rebecca has extensive experience of the financial services industry, as she worked for four large international institutions in London and Zurich over approximately two decades. In her final industry role, Rebecca was appointed to be the first Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Sustainable Finance at HSBC Holdings plc in 2017. She holds a BSc in Economics and Politics, a Masters in Sustainability Leadership from University of Cambridge, and is a Chartered Global Management Accountant. Rebecca is a Board Member at the ICAEW (International Chartered Accountants of England and Wales) Financial Services faculty.
