Training and Capacity Building

Tri Hita Consulting has supported GGGI in delivering five training sessions for the Renewable Energy–Accelerated Transition (RE-ACT) project. The team demonstrated strong facilitation skills and an engaging approach, incorporating case studies, software demonstrations, interactive discussions, and practical exercises. Participant feedback was positive, and communication between both teams remained smooth throughout the process. We appreciate Tri Hita Consulting’s professionalism and collaborative spirit in supporting Indonesia’s energy transition.

I worked with Tri Hita Consulting in 2024 and 2025 on EE project . When I was seconded to OECD-CEFIM, their team was supporting a training on EE finance where they supported EE risk explanation and facilitated interactive sessions which included modeling potential EE investments with ROI as one of the results. In the second assignment, Tri Hita moderated a session and also provided inputs to overall interactions and workshop report. I am impressed by the professionalism and go-to attitude of the Tri Hita team and can say that they supported over and beyond the original contract. Looking forward to collaborate more with the Tri Hita team in the future.

To comply with The OJK regulation, we collaborated with Tri Hita Consulting to conduct training for our team ensuring our readiness to prepare CRMS reporting in 2025. We achieved our training objective, namely for our team members to acquire knowledge of OJK CRMS and gain awareness of the collaborative approach for CRMS implementation. The training was tailored to our specific needs, helping us better understand and implement the strategies and methodologies necessary for effective climate risk management and OJK CRMS reporting. We look forward to continuing our collaboration to ensure compliance and strengthen our climate risk management practices.

We worked with Tri Hita Consulting for a workshop that focused on energy efficiency financing, which was held in Manado. Tri Hita was hired to provide technical support for two sessions focused on EE risk and financial model assessments. Further, they assisted us in engaging the participants with interactive sessions and case studies. We were pleasantly surprised by the professional delivery in both languages and Tri Hita’s staff’s flexibility to adapt to unforeseen changes during the workshop. We are currently discussing follow-up activities with Tri HIta and looking forward to further collaborations.

In order to improve the capacity of the Financial Industry in Indonesia, the OJK Institute in collaboration with GIZ CASE has developed a capacity-building program focused on Carbon Trading. Tri Hita Consulting was one of the expert teams that provided technical input on International Practices in carbon trading. We are greatly helped, especially in providing a comprehensive overview of the global learning curve throughout the implementation of carbon trading. 

Furthermore, we have gained valuable insights directly from the participants on this discussion, such as the financial instruments that interest them, what is needed and expected from OJK by industry players, and what steps can be taken together to strengthen the implementation of sustainable finance, especially strategies to increase the utilisation of carbon trading services in Indonesia.

IDX recently hosted a capacity building session on GHG inventory and mitigation actions with our subsidiaries, which was coordinated by Tri Hita Consulting. After years of successful collaboration, Tri Hita’s deep understanding of our needs was instrumental in tailoring the session’s content to be informative, engaging, and action-oriented. The emphasis on knowledge sharing, actionable insights, and concrete next steps ensured that the session wasn’t just informative, but a springboard for real change. At the end of the session, it was demonstrated that the participants’ comprehensiveness had increased significantly.

Tri Hita supported GIZ CASE in collaboration with PIH Kemenperin to assist the industry sector on its energy efficiency journey by organising an Energy Efficiency Workshop: Setting an energy baseline according to ISO 50006:2023. We appointed Tri Hita Consulting & EnerCoss to ensure the workshop was done successfully. Tri Hita Team was very proactive & tactful, ensuring the preparation until the workshop was done professionally. The engaging presentations, hands-on activities, and group discussions created an immersive learning experience. This interactive approach facilitated a deeper understanding of energy efficiency concepts and encouraged the participants to brainstorm and share ideas. The result was a collaborative environment where each participant felt empowered to contribute to the discussions around energy efficiency.

It was a great collaboration between Tri Hita Consulting and C&G Analytica to carry out an important study for the ASEAN Energy Center on the current state of energy efficiency demand management in ASEAN. Together we look at the 4 main pillars of energy efficiency demand management (EE), namely the role of ESCOs, financing of EE, adopting EE standards and labels, and innovative energy services and market design. We are actively seeking more collaborative projects to drive energy efficiency forward.

We engaged with Verena for a status report on energy efficiency in Indonesia assigned to us by UNIDO. Given the short cycle of analysis, we need good local knowledge, good network for policy makers and the private sector to ensure that the results are in line with current discussions in the field. We really appreciate the work of Verena and her team and look forward to working on other projects in the future.

I came to know Verena while doing a Capacity Building consultancy for the Philippine Department of Energy. We support DOEs in conducting training and institutionalizing their capacity building efforts in DOE HR management. She is highly motivated in his work, works efficiently, is structured. Furthermore, he is pragmatic and understands the challenges between content and development approaches. I hope we can work on other projects together in the future.

I got to know Tri Hita Consulting when they joined the Energy Conservation Project, where the City of Denpasar is one of the Pilot Projects of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources. We are collaborating in a street lighting equipment procurement project for the City of Denpasar with a PPP scheme. Julia, Verena and Gita helped us to coordinate and provide technical input from local and national consultants. I hope that our collaboration will not only be on the APJ PPP project but will continue to support other projects to improve public services in City of Denpasar.

We have partnered with Tri Hita Consulting to assist the ASEAN Centre for Energy (ACE) in assessing the enabling environment for the DSM market demand strategy and policy gaps. Besides technical inputs, Tri Hita Consulting enhanced communication with the client (ACE) – by listening to them, understanding their needs, and addressing their issues effectively. The collaboration has been excellent, and we look forward to working together in the future, especially in other trending areas (GHG accounting and ESGs).

Verena has been working for us on a market assessment for a Green Climate Fund proposal for EE in Industries in Indonesia. Besides her expertise on diverse financing options, we appreciated her industry contacts and enthusiasm to deliver beyond the TOR described. We are looking forward to working together on other projects in the future.

I got to know Verena through a UNEP Study focused on fiscal policy measures to mitigate air pollution in DKI Jakarta. She was in charge of coordinating and synergising inputs from the Indonesian team relating to both data and policy analysis. I found that due to her Bahasa skills and excellent network she could quickly identify the best collaborators for our study as well as the most relevant stakeholders to consult on the content. Further, she is a reliable and committed professional who will go over and beyond to deliver the best possible result. I would be delighted to work with her again in the future!

Verena’s competence is rivalled only by her tenacity and optimism. I met Verena at a conference in Manila on energy efficiency finance, where she organised a roundtable discussion on opportunities for public buildings in the Philippines. Since then, we regularly share ideas on financing options. Verena also spearheaded a successful collaboration with the EU, Philippines DOE, and ADB in which we co-hosted a conference for local governments in the Philippines to help socialise the new energy efficiency law and identify challenges and opportunities for implementation. Verena has a vast amount of knowledge on EE finance and is a great networker and connector.

I worked with Verena at the time I was programme director with GIZ and have always been impressed by the combination of her professional enthusiasm and very warm personality. Verena is an excellent networker and will always be able to connect the right people to the task. She has a good feeling for challenges that need to be addressed and has an efficient and down-to-earth attitude.

Verena assisted in our EU-supported Access to Sustainable Energy Programme (ASEP) between 2018 and 2021. Her focus was to boost the capacity development aspect in our programme by setting up the goals and time plan, budget and support the recruitment of national staff. She is very reliable, hardworking, and demonstrates strong management skills that help facilitate our CapDev activities. Our partners from the Department of Energy appreciate her work too.

Verena has been working for Eckrohrkessel GmbH for two years as a part-time business development manager for Southeast Asia. Due to her vast network, especially to donor agencies and international organisations she managed to get quick insights into the market and make ERK visible beyond our licensees’ network.
