On 18-21st of June 2019, representatives from the Department of Alternative Energy Development and Efficiency (DEDE), funded by a GIZ programme (RAC NAMA) attended the Asia Clean Energy Forum (ACEF) 2019 “Partnering for Impact” at the Headquarters of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and met with several EE finance stakeholders in Manila, Philippines. Pertiwi-Consulting arranged meetings with several stakeholders, including the Bank of Philippine Islands and the Energy Efficiency & the Conservation Division Energy Utilization Management Bureau (EUMB) under the Department of Energy.
The discussions highlighted the importance of quality assurance of ESCOs and energy service providers, targeted financing programmes that go beyond lending and necessary collaborations between different institutions to adjust procurement regulations to allow ESCO business in the public sector.
