Verena participated in a 3-day training on the European Sustainability building standard (DGNB) from 19th to 21st of February 2020 in Bangkok, Thailand. She found very interesting that research shows that certified buildings have higher occupancy and up to 12% real-estate value. Also, the focus of the standard is to increase living standards, and also the focus on economic assessment that needs to be cost-efficient and needs to match with the expectations of the project developer. So cost-efficient green solutions can be found and not just highly cost technology ones. Pertiwi-consulting hopes to collaborate with DGNB and EGS-Plan in Bangkok to carry the knowledge and certification scheme into Indonesia and other SEA countries.
