After the OJK Carbon Trading regulation issuance in August 2023, a lot of information exchange is needed to inform industry and regulators. As part of OJK’s efforts to support the government in controlling climate change and preparing domestic legal instruments to achieve emission targets, OJK conducted a workshop with the objectives to provide an understanding of:
- Carbon trading policies, opportunities, challenges, and stages of ecosystem development.
- Existing best practices nationally, regionally, and internationally.
- The role of IJK (banking, capital markets, and IKNB) and related stakeholders in implementing carbon trading.
Tri Hita was very honoured to be invited as one of the speakers to deliver the topic “Country Experience on the Role of Financial Regulations in Carbon Trading Development” in the workshop. We explained the importance of learning from international best practices to set up the trading scheme in her session. However, its sustainability is highly dependent on a solid ecosystem.
We are pleased to see how Indonesia has grown and put more emphasis on sustainability. Our sincere appreciation extends to all participants for their active engagement and commitment to expanding their knowledge. Through initiatives like these, we strive to be a catalyst for sustainable practices and climate resilience.
